Xehoriati
Xehoriati Resort
The ancient village of Xehoriati lying on the north coast of Zakynthos is a paradise for the lovers of traditional Greek culture and simple life. It is located among the towns of Alikanas, Alikes and Amoudi. The magical atmosphere is completed by a small port with fishing boats, which is also why Xehoriati was sought-after by many artists, painters or writers in the past. It was also the Greek composer Mussakis who became fond of the village searching inspiration for his work.
In the small shops on the village square, you can buy basic foodstuffs but it is always better to buy fruit and vegetables directly from the locals who mostly own a garden, a field, a vineyard, or a flock of sheep or goats. In Xehoriati there is also a taverna and a café with a bar, a public phone box and a postbox. The village landmark is an old church symbolizing the spiritual life of the local inhabitants.
