Astris Resort

The small resrort and village of Astris stretches in the southernmost tip of the Greek island of Thassos about 40 km from the capital of Thassos - Limenas. This picturesque place is surrounded by hills dotted with joyful greenery, delightful for your eyes and tempting the tourists wanting to enjoy this unique view.

The original houses in the old part of the town are really interesting from the architectural point of view and are definitely worth seeing (or you can even put up for the night in some of them). The peaceful resort can offer romanticism and nice sit-downs in the starlight or by candlelight in a stylish taverna. However, you will also find there shops with everything you might need. Therefore Astris is not really suitable for those who love nightlife and busy life in general, as it is really very peaceful.

With the proximity of the famous Limenaria resort which is the second largest town on Thassos, you can make trips to enjoy more services and fun. The best option is to rent a car or a motorbike and go. There is also a local bus stopping in Astris.

Near Astris, there is a famous natural place of interest: Giola/Eye of Zeus. it is a natural lake in a rock where water flows when the sea is high. It is very nice to swim in, only you need to be careful about the sharp rock and watch where you are jumping! 

Astris beach

The Astris beach amidst wild nature is quite different from other Greek destinations: it has a very steep slope into the water, and so, it is not really suitable for non swimmers and small children. Also you need to be careful about undersea currents. Yet this is perfect for the fans of water sports as the sea forms great waves ideal for surfing, water skiing, and other activities The beach is covered with sand and it is perfect for sunbathing. The water there is clean, crystal clear and beautifully blue.
