Kounopetra Resort

The small fishing village, or rather the settlement of Kounopetra is located on the south coast of Cephalonia on the southernmost tip of the Paliki peninsula about 9 km from the town of Lixouri. In the peaceful village, you will find a little fishing port, a few tavernas, and a reminiscence of a natural phenomenon - a moving rock - i.e. a part of a rock that used to move regularly, yet since the earthquake in 1953, the rock hasn´t moved any more. Nonetheless, the place still bears the same name. In Kounopetra and surroundings, you will find romantic and unusual sandy beaches of a reddish colour, with beach service including umbrellas, deckchairs, showers and refreshment on many of them. Other beaches worth visiting are Akrotiri, Agis Nikolaos, Vatsa, Xi, and Mega Lakos.
