Faliraki
Faliraki Resort
Faliraki is probably the most touristic resort on Rhodes, offering all the kinds of entertainment you can imagine. The town as such is really nice, as there are no huge hotel complexes but rather equally distributed small hotels and suites, all that among plenty of green vegetation, tavernas with gardens and different entertainment centres. On the site Rhodos map, you will find a map of accommodation facilities.
Faliraki beach
There is a wide sandy beach lined by trees and tavernas with gardens all over the length of the resort. The beach is about 5 km long, of which the middle and the northern part are located partially away from the housing development, and so, they are a bit more peaceful. It is about 40-60 m wide, mostly covered with sand, and the entry into the water is very gentle. Obviously you will find there complete beach service and all kinds of rental services.
Who is the resort suitable for?
The resort is suitable for all searching for fun and excitement, and those who like to bathe and idle on beautiful beaches with goldish sand. Given the choice of entertainment, sandy beach and gently entry into the water, the resort can be also recommended to families with children.
What to do in Faliraki?
In Faliraki there are not too many historical sites or possibilities to go on a trip to the surroundings, but you can rent a car and visit some of the more remote places. If you are physically fit, you can visit the picturesque fishing port in the southern part of the resort, and set off to the top of the hill with an amazing view on the whole area, or walk around the hill and arrive to the beautiful romantic beach of Anthony Quinn. From Faliraki, it is about 2 km to the hill and 5 km to the Anthony Quinn beach.
Another tip for an interesting trip is to visit the former baths of Kalithea where you can enjoy nice bathing in clean water and a sit-down in a good restaurant.
As far as entertainment is concerned, in Faliraki you will find almost everything; including calm streets with many beautiful tavernas but also night clubs and discos, fairground amusements and a water park. At first sight, those attractions seem to be the Faliraki landmarks as one of them is a giant Ferris wheel, the second a kind of free fall catapult, and the third a crane to do bungee jumping.
