Kolymbia Resort

Kolymbia is one of the very popular resorts as it joins the peace and nice enviroment with the bustle and entertainment of the tourist resort. Already on your arrival to the place, you will notice the access road which is very long and narrow, lined by full-grown eucalyptuses (after all the name of the road is Eucalyptus Street). The resort could be divided into two parts - the north and the south one. The north part is a bit wild, its southern end being the end of the Afandou beach. The whole place is a kind of flat thing with a wide beach, and a mixture of sand with pebbles, a small hotel complex here and there. For the photos, see the link. The southern part of the beach, i.e. the one located closer to the resort right under the hill, is a sandy one, and there is a beautiul taverna with a nice view.

The southern part is the main tourist area of the resort. The hotels there are maintained and have beautiful luxuriant gardens and are completely equipped. This part is in fact an about 1 km long sandy beach offering peace and relaxation. On both sides, the beach is delimited by high hills and a rock on a slope, creating a joyful and very nice atmosphere.

The hill between the northern and the southern part is very easy to access, and you should definitely go to see it as it is not really difficult to climb. There is a beautiful view on the whole resort and the beaches in the north up to Afandou,

The resort has many tourist information centres where you can make a reservation of different trips and other events.

Kolymbia is located about 2 km from the main road connecting the north and the south of the island. On the crossroad nearby, there is a church and the Proton shopping centre. The local bus stop can be found at the Zeus hypermarket.

Near the resort you can bathe on the Tsampika beach, where you can walk on the main road (but also go there by bus or a car). 

Who is Kolymbia suitable for?

In the resort there are plenty of tavernas, bars and little shops, so if you like busy holiday resorts, you certainly won´t be disappointed. The Kolymbia resort can be recommended to all who want to spend their holiday in a calm and relaxed environment. Also it is a good point of departure to travel on the island.
