Ixia Resort

The Ixia resort consists of a 500 m wide and 3 km long stretch of green vegetation with inbuilt hotel complexes offering both hotel-kind accommodation but also bungalows with their own swimming pools. The accommodation is generally luxurious (there is a Hilton in the resort as well). The area is is crossed by the main road leading from Rhodes to the airport and the western part of the island. In the western part if the resort, you will find several hotel complexes (including Miramare Wonderland, Avra Beach Ixia located between the beach and the road, so the traffic is not really disturbing. Yet in the eastern part in the direction of Rhodes, the road passes close to the beaches, which is a bit unpleasant both when idling on the beach or crossing the road. Given the number of hotel complexes and the road, there is basically nowhere else to go. There another resort, Lalyssos, located about 2-3 km far away, but the way is not really nice.

The Ixia beach is long, wide and plain, covered by pebbles and sand here and there.

Who is Ixia suitable for?

Ixia has not really been made for romantic and calm stays. If you are searching for a nice holiday in luxury, it is better to go e.g. to the resort of Elounda on Crete, sought after by politicians and celebrities. If you really insist on staying on Rhodes, take a look at Kalathos. There are also luxury hotel complexes but in a much more interesting environment.
