Ialyssos resort

The Ialyssos resort is located on the north-west side of the island, about 10 km from the capital of Rhodes. Despite being very modern, it preserves the atmosphere of peace and comfort. There are a few large hotel complexes but also many family suites with gardens and plenty of green vegetation. The main avenues here are wide and have lots of little shops, tavernas and various kinds of entertainment. There is a café in the tower of a former watermill which is definitely worth visiting. Next to the café, there is children´s playground, and all that can be found almost on a beach, so it is a good target when you go for a walk with your children. The walks in Ialyssos are generally very nice, especially if you set off in the direction of Rhodes or the resort of Kremasti, as in some parts, the coast path is fringed with trees.

The beach in Ialyssos is very touristic - it is an about 30-50 m long stretch without any promontories, bay or secluded places, with its surface formed mostly by rather big pebbles, or a mixture of sand with pebbles. On one hand, the beach doesn´t really look peaceful and romantic, on the other hand, it has all the necessary services -  there are plenty of bars, tavernas and all sorts of rental services. Ialyssos has a very good bus connection to Rhodes, so you can also make a trip to discover the beauties of the island capital.

Who is Ialyssos suitable for?

If you want to travel more on the island, the location of the resort is not the best, although it is not difficult to rent a car there. Yet if you are planning to stay at your hotel complex, on the beach, and go for a walk from time to time, then you will be satisfied with the resort. 

Ialyssos is also suitable for the lovers of water sports - there is a famous school of windsurfing.
