Kavros Resort

The Kavros resort is located on a splendid sandy beach stretching from the resort of Georgioupolis almost up to the historic town of Rethymno.

Originally, Kavros used to be, just like the neighbouring resort of Dramia, a little coast village, and with the growing tourism in the area, Kavros became a small town that has preserved its original character and atmosphere. 

What to do in Kavros?

Both the town of Kavros and its surroundings have plenty of green vegetation and the social life here is rather calm. Which is one of the reasons why visitors return to the place, since Kavros offers peace, calm and relaxation. And if you complete this by the splendid panorama with high rocks in the north-west and the walls of the  more than 2 400 m high Lefka Ori mountain range in the north, you will see Kavros is a truly beautiful place.

For those who don´t want to spend their holiday just idling on the beach but like to travel and know new places, Kavros is a perfect point of departure to get to know the beauties of the whole western Crete, or possibly also ithe south-west coast. If you want to know the island on foot, from Kavros you can make a trip to the unique freshwater Kournas Lake. If you have a car, you should definitely not miss the visit of the White Mountains including the largest canyon in Europe - the Samaria Gorge. Obviously you will also find many historical sites in the surroundings of the resort - you should definitely visit the nearby historical towns of Chania or Rethymno.

Kavros location

The Kavros resort is located on the north coast of Crete approx. 18 km west of the beautiful historical town of Rethymno. When driving on the main road connecting the towns of Chania and Rethymno, you can´t really miss Kavros. If you don´t have your own car, Kavros can also be easily accessed by public transport.
