Kokkini Hani Resort

The Kokkini Hani resort is a part of an about 6 km long stretch where the resorts of Kokkini Hani, Kato Gouves, Analipsi and Anissaras mingle. Kokkini Hani is located in the close proximity of the very famous and frequently visited resorts of Hersonissos which is the main and the busiest town in the area.

What to do in Kokkini Hani

Like all the other nearby resorts, Kokkini Hani has everything you would expect from a busy resort on the coast: a great number of tavernas and hotels, a long sandy beach, and a great choice of interesting activities to pass the time both on the beach and in the resort. Kokkini Hani has enough entertainment venues open till late at night, and also offers the possibility of making all-day trips.

One of the greatest attractions for families with children is the StarBeach WaterPark, located about 13 km far away. Besides that, families with children but also the disabled will certainly appreciate the local beach with a very gentle slope into the water and providing enough space for various activities even for non-swimmers. 

Kokkini Hani surroundings

Those who don´t want to stay only in the resort but like nature and historical sites will certainly appreciate the proximity of some of the most interesting monuments and natural formations on the island. The Lasithi Plateau, the most famous and the largest plateau renowned for its hundreds of windmills, can be found about 30 km far away, while the archaeological sites of Knossos or Heraklion, the Crete capital, are located 15 km far. 

Who is Kokkini Hani suitable for?

The Kokkini Hani resort is not suitable for those searching for a calm holiday in a peaceful environment, complete privacy and few people. Yet all the others will certainly enjoy their stay in the area (Kokkini Hani, Kato Gouves, Analipsi,  Anissaras and Hersonissos).

Kokkini Hani location

Kokkini Hani is located on the north coast about 15 km from Heraklion. For more distances, see the link. If you drive on the road from Heraklion in the direction of Agios Nikolaos, you can´t really miss Kokkini Hani as there are direction signs everywhere. The tourist resort of Kokkini Hani is situated on the left from the new main road, while the old road passes directly through the resorts.
