The Rapaniana resort is a very small and calm place, perfect for all searching for peace and comfort. The resort is in fact one of the smallest on the whole Crete - you will find there only a few hotels, a pension here and there, some tavernas, a bar, and that is all.
Rapaniana is a soothing place already by its look. Its gardens are full of green vegetation and trees, and so, the resort looks civilized, on the other hand, the wide and sand and pebble beaches stretching to the distance pass smoothly into a plain grassy surface, emphasizing the peace and loneliness of the palce. The local beaches are fully equipped and therefore also suitable for families with children or people with movement disbilities.
What to do in Rapaniana
If you enjoy beaing alone and in a peaceful place, you are looking forward to romantic sunsets and you don´t mind about having to go a few kilometres away to the nearby resort of Platanias/Agia Marina if you want to have some fun and enjoy social life, then Rapaniana is the perfect choice for you.
The Rapaniana resort is also the perfect point of departure to get to know the western part of the island. Such beautiful places like Chania, the famous beaches of Falasarna, Elafonisi or Balos, or the largest canyon in Europe, the Samaria Gorge, are located really close and they can be easily accessed both by car and public buses.
The Rapaniana resort lies on the main road connecting Chania and Kissamos. The resort has a bus stop and a very frequent connection to the other nearby resorts, including Platanias/Agia Marina). The resort can be found on the north coast approx. 20 km west of the beautiful town of Chania.
