Analipsi Resort
The Analipsi resort is a part of an about 6 km long stretch where the resorts of Kato Gouves, Analipsi and Anissaras are mingling. It is located close to the very famous and frequently visited resort of Hersonissos being the main town of the area.

Like all the other surrounding resorts, Analipsi has everything that a busy coast resort can have. You will find there a great number of tavernas and hotels, a long sandy beach, and also enough interesting activities both on the beach and in the town. Analipsi has enough night venues and the possibility to go for all-day trips.
What to do in Analipsi
Analipsi is tempting its visitors for the large StarBeach WaterPark about 5 km far from the town. Besides the waterpark, families with children and the disabled can also enjoy the beach which slopes down very gently and offers enough space for various water pleasures even for non-swimmers.
If you like historic sites and nature, you can visit e.g. the Lasithi Plateau, the most famous and the largest plateau renowned for hundreds of windmills located about 30 far; or the archaeological site of Knossos. The capital of Heraklion is located about 20 km far.
Who is Analipsi suitable for?
Analipsi is not suitable for those looking for a peaceful holiday in a calm environment, complete privacy and few people.
History of Analipsi
The first mention about the settlement of Analipsi comes from the era of Turkish dominion when the summer residences were built there, enabling to stay in the place during several months a year. Then when the Turkish rule started to decline, Analipsi served as the setllement of in the inhabitants of the Lasithi Plateau who lived there during the winter. Although the plateau is very fertile, the winters there are extremely harsh and mild climate in Analipsi and the area between Heraklion and Hersonisos provided good conditions for wintering for the inhabitants of the Lasithi Plateau and their cattle.
Location
Analipsi is located on the north coast approx. 20 km east of Heraklion. For more information on the distances, see the distances section. If you drive on the road from Heraklion to Agios Nikolaos, you can’t really miss Analipsi. There are road signs everywhere, with the tourist resorts lying on the left from the new road and the old road passing through them.
