Istro (Istron) Resort

The tourist resort of Istro is located above a beautiful bay with a long sandy beach and magnificent rocks. The town has been built on the very rock slope, and so, when sitting in a taverna or on a terace, you will have an amazing view on all the surrounding area - the bay is formed by several small coves with beautiful clean sand or soft pebbles, and warm crystal clear shallow water.

Although the area belongs to one of the most beautiful on the island, it is not overcrowded, and both the Istro resort and the nearby beaches provide enough peace and privacy. In fact the today´s resort of Istro is located in the place of the ancient town of Istron, and at present, archeological works are still taking place there, therefore new housing development is quite limited.

In the resort there are no large hotel complexes but it still offers everything you might need on your holiday - tavernas, cafés and little shops with groceries.

If the local shops and entertainment weren´t enough for you, you can visit the nearby resort of Agios Nikolaos with unlimited choice of fun, nighltlife and shopping.
