Kavos Resort

Kavos is a very lively resort located on the southernmost tip of Corfu, about 50 km from the capital. Every year, it is visited especially by the youth who come there to enjoy local nightlife and hilarious parties. The resort is similar to other island tourist destinations, being surrounded by olive groves and with a view on turquoise sea over which you can see up to the Albanian and Greek coast on the opposite side. 

What to do in Kavos?

Kavos is without any doubt the paradise of all who love bustling nightlife and merrymaking till early morning hours, which is reflected in the number and the variety of local tavernas. It has to be said that the level of local hotel and restaurant services is really high. The resort has quite a lot of disco clubs and dancing bars, offering a great variety of music styles including rock, hip hop, soul but also traditional Greek music. Some of the tavernas do offer Greek specialities, yet you should expect more the dishes being popular among the British tourists as they form the majority in the resort. If you decide to visit the surroundings, you should definitely go to the nearby islands of Paxos and Antipaxos. Besides the splendid view from the port tavernas, those can offer goldish beaches and many options to enjoy and savour your holiday even better. There is a regular bus connection between Kavos and the capital of Kerkyra.

Kavos beach

The Kavos beach is considered to be one of the largest on the island. It is covered by sand with an admixture of pebbles and several kilometres long. You will find there umbrellas and deckchairs but also toilets and showers. You can also try various water sports. Yet the beach is not too much suitable for families with children since during the high season the resort is very busy and lively, although with respect to safety you don´t need to be afraid - the seabed slopes down very gently and the water is shallow. With its plain surface, the beach is also accessible for people with disabilities.
