Dassia
Dassia Resort
The Dassia resort can be found on the green east coast of Corfu, and if you are young or you simply like to have fun and practice sports, or both, then this resort has been made exactly for you. Dassia is one of the rather large Corfu resorts, providing a wide range of hotel and restaurant services as well as sports and entertainment. It is located only about 12 km from the capital and there is local bus going to the resort. The whole town is located on a mostly plain surface, and some parts of the beach are even paved, so they can be accessed even by people with disabilities. All the life is concentrated on the main road lined by bars and restaurants, from which some of the streets go directly to the beach.
In the Dassia resort, you can choose from a wide range of accomoodation facilities including huge luxury hotels but also small family pensions. You will also find there lots of shops with everything you might need, including souvenir shops to buy some gifts for your family and friends.
Dassia beach
The main beach in Dassia is located opposite the Albanian coast outside busy roads. It is quite long and plain, formed mostly by pebbles and coarse sand. It has a very gentle entry into the sea. The water there is mostly calm and the beach has been awarded the EU Blue Flag for its cleanliness and top quality. Of course you can rent there an umbrella and a deckchair, too. Besides idling on the beach, those of a more adventurous nature can experience some excitement practicing some of the water sports being offered in the place, including diving, water skiing and windsurfing but also driving a motorboat or riding a banana boat.
Dassia is a summer paradise of sportsmen, not only for the already mentioned water activities. Given that the area of the resort is quite plain, it is perfect for cycling and those who prefer to do sports in a more relaxed way, but still the resort can be enjoyed also by more physically fit hikers. The local landscape is really picturesque, full of olive groves and more green vegetation, so driving a bicycle or a hiking tour can become a very nice and relaxing experience. If you prefer some calmer activity, you can go to play golf to the local golf club.
