Ipsos Resort

The Ipsos resort located on the east coast of Corfu belongs to the most visited places on the island. It is known as a very lively resort full of bars and discos. Despite that, it is hiding calm places, too. It is just for its variety that it becomes the destination of thousands of tourists every year, including familieis, young couples and the elderly. The local beach stretches on the area of about 2 km, with its surface being covered by sand with an admixture of pebbles. It has been awarded the EU Blue Flag for its cleanliness and top quality, and the visitors can use there not only umbrellas and deckchairs but also toilets, showers and changing cubicles. With its gently sloping seabed, the beach is also suitable for children and people with disabilities. Of course, you can practice there various water sports, including water skiing, ringo, or riding a banana boat. Two large wharfs have been built for this purpose, where you can also epxplore the beauties hidden under the water surface and go snorkeling or diving, being supervised by experienced instructors from the local diving school. In the beach surroundings, you will certainly choose from the wide range of bars and tavernas. You will also find there cosy hotels and suites offering a broad range of services.

Besides refreshing exotic drinks and different kinds of wine and beer, local bars and tavernas also offer Greek specialities, and delicacies of other cuisine - in the resort you will find Italian pizzerias or Chinese snack bars. Last but not least, you can also go to eat a traditional British breakfast since Ipsos is a popular destination among the British who travel there regularly to take a rest and have some fun. Some of the local venues offer movie screenings, live broadcast of sports matches on large screens, or live music. There are also a few bars with their own swimming pool you can use for free if you buy something to drink. In the resort you will find shops and supermarkets, too. In the night, Ipsos becomes a lively resort with many options to have fun. If you get weary of the place, you can always visit the island capital nearby - which is also why the resort is popular among the youth who come there to have fun.

The Ipsos resort is well equipped for children - besides the safe beach and the gentle sloping seabed, there are also swimming pools intended for children, and also a racing track on which you children can run about in special minicars.

Once you have explored the whole resort, you can set off to see its surroundings. You can try e.g. some of the picturesque villages in the surroundings like Agios Markos or Ano Korakiana where you can experience a day of life of the locals, i.e. relaxed with no stress. Other places worth visiting are the nearby resorts like Barbati with its goldish beach and crystal clear water. The last place you shouldn´t miss is the Kanoni, peninsula from where you can visit the famous Vlacherna Monastery and the Mouse Island.
