Barbati
Barbati Resort
In the north-eastern part of Corfu, there stretches the vastest mountain range of the island with its highest peak, Pantokrator (906 m). In its foothills, you can find the peaceful resort of Barbati with its picturesque nature, exuberant green vegetation, and crystal clear sea. The Mount Pantokrator rises majestically to the height, and together with the sky-blue sea, it forms a charming panorama. With its peaceful atmosphere, the resort is especially tempting for families with children and couples looking for rest and comfort so much longed-for, yet the place can be enjoyed by all.
Barbati beach
The local pebbly beach is located outiside the town centre and roads, and besides the traditional rent of umbrellas and deckchairs, it also has a few tavernas, bars and shops. The beach is maintained regularly and for the full comfort of its visitors, it is equipped with showers, toilets, and changing cubicles. Since water sports are offered by most summer resorts, here you will also find plenty of options to perk yourself up. In the resort you can practice e.g. water skiing, ride a banana boat or rent a motor boat. Besides the sea, you can also use the public swimming pools belonging to the local bars, so you are supposed to buy there at least something small for refreshment.
What to do in Barbati
Local tavernas and restaurants are placed along the beach and on the main street. Besides tasty dishes, most of them can also offer a beautiful view (somewhere you can even see up to the Albanian coast on the opposite side)., and nice relaxation. Yet if you are still yearning for bustling nightlife, you don´t need to sit alone in your hotel room. Even in this calm place is hiding places for those longing to have some fun. And if you are not satisfied with local venues, the nearby little town of Ipsos, calle ´Little Las Vegas“, offers a wide range of cultural activities. In the shops in the centre of Barbati, you will find everything you might need including groceries and souvenirs made of ceramics or wood.
Places to visit in the surroundings
In the surroundings of the resort, you can make plenty of interesting and adventurous walking trips. With its location in the rocks, Barbati can offer lots of both mountain and forest paths where you can observe local fauna and flora. On your way, you can also discover a few old Greek villages which are definitely worth seeing. The local curiosity are the ruins of the ancient St. Nicolas Church located right on the beach. On a boat, you can explore the nearby bay of the town of Nissaki (although it is also possible to get there on the road).
