The Agios Stefanos West resort is a very nice and calm place, yet with all the necessary tourist background. There is a wide choice of tavernas and restaurants inviting for a nice sit-down and tempting its visitors for delicious cuisine and reasonable prices. You will find there classical souvenir shops, fashion accessories and jewellery. On the main avenue, there is even a goldsmith´s shop. Obviously you will also find there a few groceries where you can buy fesh fruit and vegetables, and a bakery. There is also an ATM machine. On the other hand, the things you won´t find there, are noisy discos and bustling nightlife - for those, you would need to visit some of the bigger nearby resorts. Agios Stefanos has a peaceful, almost sleepy atmosphere, ideal for perfect relaxation after the year-round hustle and bustle.
Who is Agios Stefanos suitable for?
Agios Stefanos is a calm resort. It can offer a nice sit-down in the cosy little tavernas and pubs, yet you won´t find there noisy discos open all night long. The resort is perfect especially for families with children and couples of all ages who prefer the local relaxed atmosphere, enabling them to free themselves at least for a while from the everyday stress and hustle and bustle.
Agios Stefanos west is also an ideal point of departure for different trips to the surroundings but also on the whole island. Only a short way from the resort in the direction of Sidari with its famous Canyon of Love, you will find the Cape Drastis. Another place worth visiting is also the small town of Kasiopi on the north coast of the island, and the village of Agios Stefanos east. The passage through the mountains towards the capital of Kerkyra is really fascinating and is definitely worth making. On the south of Agios Stefanos, the ressorts worth visiting are Agios Georgios with its beautiful beach and Paleokastritsa with an old castle.
Beaches
Without any doubt, the beach in Agios Stefanos belongs to the most beautiful ones on Corfu. It is really wide and covered with light yellow sand. The entry into the water is gently, and so, the beach is also suitable for small children and non swimmers. The water is clean and crystal clear, so the Agios Stefanos beach is regularly awarded the EU Blue Flag for top quality. Also the sand is cleaned every morning and so there are no algae or rubbish left.
On the beach in Agios Stefanos, you can practice various water sports - on the part of the beach which is more remote from the resort, you can rent a water scooter or a motor boat. Obviously you can also borrow there umbrellas and deckchairs. Even during the high season, the beach is not overcrowded, and on its end, there is a nudist part of the beach.
